Katy Perry Kisses Marine Onstage

Katy Perry made a Marine’s dream come true this week when she gave him a passionate kiss onstage! During her performance of single ‘Part of Me‘ at a ‘Fleet Week‘ event in New York, she brought the handsome man in uniform to the platform, and began the flirtation by stealing his hat.

The saucy singer flirted: “Does it look good on me?,” before asking him to reenact a famous scene from an iconic 40s picture of a nurse kissing a sailor. “Do you know what I am talking about? You want to do it? You promise you are not going to drop me? You’re not gonna drop me? If you drop me, I am going to sick all my friends on you,” she joked. The lucky guy dipped her back, and raised his arms in victory.

‘Fleet Week‘ sees military ships dock in various US cities across 7 days so that the crews can see the sights, and is an annual event. Katy wore a patriotic US flag print dress with an asymmetrical shoulder on the red carpet. She posted on her Twitter afterwards: “Sea men dock their vessels in the great city of NYC to experience the land from whence they came. I’m about to give them a show!”

Ben Mitchell Arrested Off-Screen!

The bad boy of Albert Square, Ben Mitchell, has been arrested in real life! 16-year-old ‘EastEnders‘ actor Joshua Pascoe was arrested in connection with an alleged sex assault on Thursday.

His arrest seems to have been short lived though, as a ‘Scotland Yard‘ representative said: “A 16-year-old boy was arrested on May 24 in connection with an allegation of sexual assault. He has been bailed to return to a North London police station on July 31.” A ‘BBC‘ spokesman added: “We are aware of the allegations. Given that there is a police investigation under way, it would not be appropriate to comment at this time.”

His on-screen character has spent time this year paying for his crimes in a juvenile detention centre. So far he’s attacked a rival with a spanner, held a shopkeeper to ransom, pushed a lady down a flight of stairs, and most recently killed Heather Trott with a photo frame!

Beyoncé Performs Comeback Gig

Beyoncé performed her 1st combeback gig last night after taking a 9 month break from music. The new Mum of baby Blue Ivy performed the 1st of 3 nights at the ‘Revel Resort & Casino‘ in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to 5,500 adoring fans. She wore an array of crystal covered stage outfits, designed personally for the singer by London design house ‘Ralph & Russo‘.

She told the crowds in the ‘Ovation Hall‘: “I gotta say, it feels so good to be back home on stage.” In a clip of her preparation for the gig, she talked about reviving Sasha Fierce, her stage persona: “I’m trying to become Sasha Fierce again. She’s dead, but I need to bring her back to life.”

Doting husband Jay Z watched his wife proudly from the wings, and tweeted his opinions on her performance: “I’m gonna say this and then I’m gonna end mine. Beyoncé is the best performer in the world. Period.”

will.i.am Relies On Autotune

He’s worked with ‘The Black Eyed Peas‘ for more than 2 decades, and has enjoyed success with the group as a singer, but will.i.am has admitted that his vocals aren’t quite up to scratch, and that he relies on other methods to enhance them.

In an interview with Alan Carr on ‘Chatty Man‘, he confessed: “I’m working on my singing abilities. I like staying in the studio. The computer allows me to make music, sing it myself, and not wait around for a singer to come along and sing the songs. The computer allows me to execute a lot of my ideas at the speed that I think them so that’s why I lean to the autotune. It’s a rare combination to have someone who can write songs and sing well.”

Keira Knightley Engaged

‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘ actress Keira Knightley has just got engaged to ‘The Klaxons‘ keyboardist James Righton. Her spokeswoman made a rare announcement earlier today: “I can confirm that Keira is engaged to be married to James Righton. We are not discussing any further details.”

The couple began dating last February after being introduced by mutual friend Alexa Chung, and moved into together 3 months ago into a £2 million London property.

Matt Cardle Dropped By Label

‘X Factor‘ 2010 winner Matt Cardle has been dumped this week by his record label, ‘Columbia‘. The reason for the drop is because of his terrible sales for debut album ‘Letters‘, and the fact that none of his singles from the album have even reached anywhere close to the ‘Top 40.’

The star posted through his Twitter page: “I have parted ways with ‘Columbia‘ records, we were heading in different directions, big news coming soon… So excited!” This is exactly why you don’t criticise the big boss, Simon Cowell…recently he slammed him for allowing runners-up to release music before him, and now he’s found himself jobless…

Elton John In Hospital, Cancels Gigs

Elton John was rushed to the ‘Cedars-Sinai Hospital‘ in LA at 6am yesterday with a serious respiratory infection. He has been ordered to rest over the next week, meaning that he will be unable to perform 4 dates of his ‘Million Dollar Piano‘ show at ‘Caesars Palace‘ in Vegas, where he was due to perform over the weekend.

After running a few tests, doctors were satisfied enough to release him, but have advised him to have: “‘complete rest and antibiotic treatment to prevent damage.” Elton has said: “It feels strange not to be able to perform these ‘Million Dollar Piano‘ concerts at the Colosseum. I love performing the show and I will be thrilled when we return to the Colosseum in October to complete the 11 concerts. All I can say to the fans is “sorry I can’t be with you.”

‘Big Bang Theory’ Actor Is Gay

‘The Big Bang Theory‘ actor Jim Parsons has quietly come out today as a gay man in an interview with ‘The New York Times‘. Jim, who plays theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper in the hit comedy, is rumoured to have dated Todd Spiewak for over a decade, but has never publicly declared his sexual preference.

His profile for the newspaper reads: “Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working with an ensemble again onstage was like nourishment.” The remainder of the interview is him gushing about him latest role onstage in a production of ‘Harvey‘ : “Elwood has such warmth, and wants nothing more than to connect with other people. The jump-out-of-bed happiness I feel transcends any nerves about taking on a history-laden role.”

Miley Cyrus: “Sex Is Magical”

Earlier this week I told you that Miley Cyrus has finally let slip that she’s not holding onto that cherry anymore, and ever since she hasn’t been able to stop talking about how great sex is! In another excerpt from the interview with Amanda de Cadenet for ‘The Conversation‘, she encouraged teens to discuss sex more openly.

“The girls that really base how much they’re worth on the sexual favors they can do for somebody, that makes me really sad. Because sex is actually really beautiful. It’s the only way we create, and it’s the only way the world keeps going.  It’s ignorant not to talk to your kids about it or not make it seem as magical or cool as it actually is. It used to be if you’re a woman you do not sing about sex, and now if that’s not what you’re singing about, if that’s not your entire image, you won’t get played on the radio. I’ve lost my sense of self a lot. There’s times you hear what you should be so much that you lose what you actually are, and that’s really hard.”

Brand Divorce Will Feature In Film

Katy Perry has been working on her 1st movie over the last few months with ‘Paramount Pictures‘. During this time she and husband Russell Brand have decided to start divorce proceedings, and she’s now told TV host Ellen DeGeneres that  her new film, ‘Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D‘, will depict the breakdown of their marriage.

On ‘Ellen‘ yesterday, the singer said: “I thought it was important to show everything in between. I think sometimes people think that we’re perfect and we know we’re not perfect, at all. I think it’s important to start breaking down the idea that to achieve your dream you always have to be perfect or flawless or live in some kind of fantasy world. So that’s why I decided to put everything into the film. In the most tasteful way. But mostly it’s about how I go there and the ride along the way which can be bumpy but mostly it was extremely fun.”

Speaking about her rise to fame, she commented: “There was a lot of the word “no” being thrown my way and I just never accepted that. You know overcoming everybody saying, “It’s not going to work”, because a lot of people wanted me to be like someone – whether that was a Kelly Clarkson or an Avril Lavigne – and I was like, “I want to be Katy Perry first”, and they didn’t really understand that. Maybe because my vision was so strong, but finally I got to go with it and it’s kind of worked out! When you see the film, it’s a bit scary because there’s a lot of shots of me bloated with zits and normal.”
