Kate Middleton turned up at Kensington‘s new (and very posh, let me tell you!) branch of High Street chain Topshop on Monday evening. Arriving just 20 minutes before closing, and minus her usual entourage, she shopped alongside several other customers, spending a little over £100.
Her purchases included: a blue velvet-trim cropped jacket costing £65, a £38 teal coloured polka dot pencil skirt, both of which have now sold out nationwide, and a pair of gold feathery earrings.
She tried the pieces on, waited in the queue, and even used a rewards card when she got to the till!
The sales assistant that served her said that despite all the chaos she caused, she remained calm: “She was low-key and casual – she seemed so normal. She was really chilled out despite some customers in the queue behind her saying, “Oh my God, it’s her” and pointing – she didn’t seem fazed by it all and she was really sweet. I also saw all her rewards cards as she had to sift through them to find her credit card. Can you believe it? I love you, Kate, for being so normal.”
It’s not the first time she’s chosen the High Street over the designers, having purchased the majority of her honeymoon wardrobe from Warehouse.
