Comedian John Bishop was triumphant last night after completing a grueling 5 day sport challenge which has seen him cycle, row and run around 290 miles. He was greeted by hundreds of supporters at Trafalgar Square, London, as he crossed the finishing line. His participation has increased the ‘Sport Relief‘ donations fund to £1.6m.
Friends and family members took it in turns to give him a morale boost along the way; footballer Robbie Savage, 2 of his 3 sons, his brother Eddie, comedian friend Jason Munford, and ‘Radio 1‘ DJ Greg James all ran alongside him and offered support.
‘You’ll Never Walk Alone‘ was played upon the Liverpudlian‘s arrival, and the crowds chanted “Bishop, Bishop.” He told onlookers: “Just arriving here in Trafalgar Square– amazing. You’ve changed the lives of people. I haven’t. That’s just blown me away. That money’s going to change lives. It’s going to change the lives of people we don’t know.”
