Russell Brand turned up to a New Orleans police station yesterday after hearing word that there was a warrant out for his arrest. He was charged with 2 counts of simple criminal damage to property, and paid a bail charge of $5000. He was forced into appearing at the station after throwing a photographer’s phone through a window earlier this week.
His people claim that he paid $240 to the photographer over the incident, after hurling it through a pane of glass in New Orleans on Monday. However, he claims that it was done out of respect for the late Steve Jobs, having tweeted: “Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an ‘iPhone‘ irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.”
