Eva Longoria and the rest of the mourning ‘Desperate Housewives‘ cast bid their final goodbyes yesterday to former co-star and Latina legend, Lupe Ontiveros. Eva was offered some comfort by close friend Wilmer Valderrama (aka Demi Lovato‘s ex), in addition to over 800 family and friends of the star.
Lupe died on July 26th aged 69, and her death has clearly had a big impact on Eva, who emerged from the church in floods of tears. On screen, the pair fought like cat and dog, with Lupe playing Gabby‘s over-bearing mother-in-law, who felt that her son could do considerably better than her.
Eva read a short passage from the Bible at her request: “But the just man, though he die early, shall be at rest. For the age that is honorable comes not with the passing of time, nor can it be measured in terms of years.” “I’m deeply saddened at the news of my dear friend Lupe Ontiveros passing. She was more than a colleague to me, she was my family. My heart is with your family Lupe,” Eva wrote on Twitter last week.
