Hip hop producer and celebrity manager Chris Lighty has died aged 44 after a successful suicide attempt. He was found in his New York apartment on Thursday, having shot himself in the head due to increasing financial and marital stress. The music mogul was responsible for the phenomenal careers of artists such as 50 Cent, Mariah Carey and P Diddy.
50 Cent has released a statement saying: “Chris has been an important part of my business and personal growth for a decade. He was a good friend and adviser who helped me develop as an artist and businessman. My prayers are with his family. He will be greatly missed.”
