‘McFly‘ drummer Dougie Poynter told Alan Carr at a taping for his show ‘Chatty Man‘ last night that he tried to kill himself before entering rehab for depression and drink and drug use last February (he locked himself in a fume-filled car).
The ‘I’m A Celeb‘ winner was there to talk about the band’s new autobiography, ‘Unsaid Things… Our Story‘, when the subject of his attempt was broached. Dougie reflected: “It’s always good to reflect on that sort of stuff. I’m in a really, really good place now. It is quite easy to forget. It’s quite therapeutic to go back, quite scary and a bit of an eye opener into how dark it can get if you take your foot off the gas and stop looking after yourself.”
