‘Plan B‘ has revealed to ‘BBC Newsbeat‘ that just 2 years ago, before the release of his sophomore album ‘The Defamation of Strickland Banks‘, he was £40,000 in debt.
“I didn’t start making any money from live shows until about 2 years ago. I was 40 grand in debt before ‘Strickland Banks‘ come out. So the 1st ‘Strickland Banks‘ tour I did I was in debt. People see you on film posters and they see your album out. They see your videos and think you’re making money. A massive misconception. Kids out there need to understand it’s hard work. You can’t just write a song, shoot some video and think you’ve made it. The reality is very different to how people see it. It took us years to feel like we were actually getting somewhere…The best get rich scheme is probably the lottery.”
