Kooky actress January Jones got tongues wagging last year when she bragged that she’d actually consumed her baby’s placenta. When she gave birth to 17-month-old son Xander, she ate it- and now claims that eating the organ via vitamin capsules helped her prevent post-natal depression.
In a new interview with ‘Glamour‘ magazine, she explains her weird decision: “I should never have told anyone about that. But it’s not gross or witchcrafty. Nor am I putting it in a shake or eating it raw. It’s a very civilised thing that can help women with depression or fatigue. I was never depressed or sad or down after the baby was born, so I’d highly suggest it to any pregnant woman.”
Amy Winehouse‘s ex husband Blake Fielder-Civil appeared on ‘Jeremy Kyle‘ earlier today, and spoke about how he got the singer hooked on deadly drugs:
“I’ve admitted that I was there when Amy had heroin for the first time, it was my doing, I don’t think she’d ever experienced it without me … the thing with heroin is you don’t take it once and get a dependency straight away it can take quite a while to be build up a dependency. I got my first habit where I had to do it every day before we went to get to America to get married. So it was maybe two months after that (she needed it). We smoked, she never injected it, I did inject eventually but not with Amy, after the relationship ended.”
“We were using it once a week for about 2 to 3 weeks, to then twice a week and then it gradually built up like that. One day we were laying in bed and Amy said she felt like she had a cold and I felt awful as well and I said, “I think this is withdrawal.” And she said, “I’m not doing that again.” Because it felt so horrible. The fact is is that of course I regret it; not only just because of the damage it’s caused Amy, and the loss of her life and the damage to her family, but also to my family and also to me. We’ve all gone through this addiction.”
Jennifer Lawrence won her very 1st Oscar last night (or should I say this morning?) for new project, ‘The Silver Linings Playbook.’ The ‘Best Actress‘ winner, who is just 22, created quite an impression amongst the fuddy crowd on the red carpet when she declared herself to be starving- so starving in fact that she wanted a McDonald‘s.
She told ‘MTV News’: “The ceremony is 4 hours long. I got in the car and could see the McDonald‘s right there, so. I forgot to eat because I was so stressed trying to leave the house, and I got in the car and I was starving.” However, it seems that she wasn’t entirely satisfied with her order: “Hang on, I didn’t say fries. I’m seeing you talk, and all I’m thinking about is me pissed that I didn’t get fries. You have to remind them of ketchup because they never include ketchup. You have to ask for it.”
And the drama continued furthermore when during her walk to the stage to accept her award, she tripped in her flamboyant dress, but regained her composure quickly: “What do you mean what happened? Look at this dress.” And as for what her exact thoughts were during the fall: “A bad word…It starts with F.”
Jessie J announced last year that she’d shave her hair off for charity ‘Comic Relief‘ in 2013, and now that the date in question is coming up, she’s decided to go one step further by getting it inked permanently as a memento!
She’s told ‘The Daily Star‘: “I want something like a heart, so it will remind me that I did it for charity. My hairdresser and I are shaving it off at the moment and I’m excited. But I think we should get one of the ‘One Direction‘ boys to do it instead. That might be a fantasy for some people!”
Kelly Clarkson has publicly bashed music mogul Clive Davis tonight online, after she was informed of her less than flattering portrayal in his new memoir.
She ranted: “So I just heard Clive Davis is releasing a memoir and spreading false information about me and my music. I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans. It feels like a violation. Growing up is awesome because you learn you don’t have to cower to anyone – even Clive Davis.”
“First, he says I burst into “hysterical sobbing” in his office when he demanded ‘Since You Been Gone‘ be on my album. Not true at all. His stories and songs are mixed up. I did want more guitars added to the original demo and Clive did not. Max, Luke and I still fought for the bigger sound and we prevailed and I couldn’t be more proud of the life of that song. I resent him dampening that song in any way. But, yes, I did cry in his office once. I cried after I played him a song I had written about my life called ‘Because Of You.’ I cried because he hated it and told me verbatim that I was a “shitty writer who should be grateful for the gifts that he bestows upon me.” He continued on about how the song didn’t rhyme and how I should just shut up and sing. This was devastating coming from a man who I, as a young girl, considered a musical hero and was so honored to work with. But I continued to fight for the song and the label relented. And it became a worldwide hit. He didn’t include that in the book.”
“He also goes on to say ‘My December‘ wasn’t successful because I co-penned the album and it didn’t have “pop hits”. Well, first let me say, I’ve co-penned many of my “pop hits.” Secondly, ‘My December‘ went platinum (It sold 20,000 less than ‘All I Ever Wanted‘ which followed ‘My December‘.) Hardly a huge failure. ‘Never Again‘, the ONLY single they released in the US from that record was a Top 10 hit. I am very proud of that and I have my fans to thank. But, again, what’s most interesting about his story is what he leaves out: He doesn’t mention how he stood up in front of his company at a convention and belittled me and my music and completely sabotaged the entire project. It never had a chance to reach it’s full potential. ‘My December‘ was an album I needed to make for myself for many reasons and the fact that I was so completely disregarded and disrespected was so disheartening, there really aren’t words to explain. Anyway, I love my job. I love my music. I love my fans. I love my label and all of my professional relationships… now. And I am grateful for Clive for teaching me to know the difference.”
Paris Hilton‘s boyfriend River Viiperi spent Sunday (and the heiress’ birthday) in hospital following a fairly major ski accident, following which he had to have 19 stitches in his leg.
