Miley Cyrus is one hip gal, that is for sure…the badass ‘Ashtrays & Heartbreaks‘ singer posted several pictures of Twitter yesterday of her modeling an ultra hot crop top for all the world to see. The cheeky design by ‘Dimepiece‘, a stretchy scoop necked tank with the words “oh shit!” emblazoned across it, was worn for a night out with a few drinks (non-alcoholic, of course), over the weekend.
It retails at $44, so at least it is easy for MC stans to pick their own copy up at a non-celebrity price. It’s available at ‘Dimepiece‘ in sizes Small-Large. The brand describe their ideal customer as being: “independent, forward thinking, fun as all hell and lives out loud.” I would so totally wear this…
Former ‘X Factor‘ contestants, boyband ‘JLS‘, have decided to break-up. The shocking move by the lads was announced a little after midnight on Twitter, and was not received well by angry tween fans. The boys formed over 6 years ago and have enjoyed commercial success across both sides of the pond until recently.
Their long statement read: “To each and every JLSter, our beloved fans around the world. We wanted to make sure that you heard it from the 4 of us, that we have decided to bring our time as a band to an end. It has been the most incredible journey over the last 6 years and we have achieved more things than we could have ever dreamed possible. Thanks to all of you guys, your support, your dedication and your love, you have changed our lives forever and we wouldn’t be where we are today without you. We are currently in the studio working on what will be our last album- ‘Goodbye; The Greatest Hits‘. We will be bringing you a new single later in the year to coincide with the album and the tour. ‘Goodbye; The Greatest Hits Tour‘ will be the last time that we will perform together as a 4 and we want to make sure that this tour is the best ever and that we end on a high! We will always remain brothers and friends and we will always be your boys.”
“We will continue to work on the JLS Foundation after our split, as we want to raise as much money and awareness as possible for great causes and our partner ‘Cancer Research UK‘. We also want to continue the legacy that we started 3 years ago with the Foundation and we hope that you always continue to support that. To find out more please go to http://www.jlsfoundation.co.uk. As always we will continue to support each other and we hope you will enjoy watching us grow individually in our new chapters going forward. We want to look at this final year as a celebration of all that we have achieved together. We hope you can look back and remember all the great moments that you have been responsible for. All that’s left to say is the biggest THANK YOU for following us from day 1 and every day since then. You are truly the best fans in the world and we will always love you.”

‘Oscar‘ winning actress Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth were both arrested in Alaska at the end of last week by police. Her husband was over the legal alcohol levels and was issued with a ‘DUI‘, and Reese didn’t take this news very well- she refused to remain in the vehicle whilst the arrest was made, bad-mouthed several cops, and was sapped herself with a ‘Disorderly Conduct‘ arrest.
The Elle Woods-playing-actress recited the classic Hollywood line of “don’t you know who I am?” after refusing to co-operate, and has since apologised for her diva-ish antics. Her arrest report read: “Do you know my name? You’re about to find out who I am. You’re about to be on national news.” Her official statements explains her remorse: “I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behaviour.”
Katy Perry hasn’t released any new music for a while now, and her fans are getting restless. So they’ll all be pleased to hear that the pop singer is half way through recording her upcoming studio album, which is estimated to be due for release towards the end of the year.
According to ‘Billboard‘, she said at ‘ASCAP’s I Create Music Expo‘ event this week: “When I put myself on a timeline, when I tell the record company when I want to release the album, that’s when the race starts. That’s when I put pressure on myself.”
And as for the first track name to be released, she discussed her writing session with friend Bonnie McKee on track ‘Double Rainbow‘: “She came in from a yoga class and said, ‘I want to write a song called ‘Double Rainbow‘. So we have a song called ‘Double Rainbow.'”
To buy a slice of Katy, this fabulously kooky, (yet expensive at £480, eek!), garment from ‘Suno‘ is for you- head to ‘Avenue 32‘!
‘Pretty Little Liars‘ actress Sasha Pieterse is no longer responsible just for playing bitchy-dead-teen Alison DiLaurentis on the drama, as she’s scored a country music deal. Sasha has talked to ‘VH1‘ about her debut song, the surprisingly upbeat track ‘This Country Is Bad Ass‘:
“The song is called ‘This Country Is Bad Ass’ and it was such an exciting journey we had. We wrote it a year ago and we’ve been kind of waiting for the right time to put it out. It just felt right and I guess it was. We weren’t expecting this much hype at all. We didn’t expect it to even get on any chart. We kind of just wanted to release it and feel it out.”
“I’m from South Africa and country isn’t popular there at all. When I came to the US we just kind of got into it. I’ve been singing for a really long time and I love a lot of genres but country just seemed like the best fit. The people in that genre are just so nice and welcoming. And that seemed so appealing. Also my voice fit it and seemed like the way to go. Being in LA, it was really hard to find a country writer and producer. I eventually – years of searching – found this guy, Dan Franklin. He’s an incredible musician and producer. We write so well together… It’s been a really cool experience. You will definitely be hearing more very soon.”
“In about 3 weeks or so I’m going to be releasing a new single called ‘RPM.’ I’ve been so busy but it’s been so great. I am going to be shooting a music video for that as well. ‘RPM’ is basically about my pace in life and I think a lot of people can relate to that. Our video is going to involve a really nice car with some fast driving. It’s going to be really cool. I’m excited for people to see it!”
‘This Morning‘ presenter Phillip Schofield got his big break in TV in the 80s working on kids TV shows, and understandably had quite a clean cut image. Until now the presenter has never publicly spoken about his wild partying days, but in an interview conducted by friend and co-host Holly Willoughby for ‘Hunger‘ magazine, he sheds some light into his drug and drink-filled past.
The so-called ‘silver fox of TV’ enthuses: “It wasn’t a case of hiding it. I did the same as everybody else. I was a lad; we partied a bit, but I didn’t hide anything. It’s just that nobody bothered to look in the right place. You have to remember that doing kids TV then, you were expected to be the son of Enid Blyton, and that was very difficult. Now you can be much more open, and have a proper life. But then, it was almost, “Oh, you’ve got a girlfriend. What type of girl is she?” But my mates and I very quickly realised: don’t go in to central London and have a wild time. By the way, when I say partying, my weakness has always been booze. I never got much into drugs, because I wasn’t very good at it. We were simply getting leathered in Chiswick where we lived at the time. Everybody knew us and nobody was bothered, and nobody would tell. So I got away with it.”
Justin Bieber has got himself in a spot of bother with some rather angry Dutch people after writing what is being called a ‘self-centered’ comment in a museum’s visitors book.
The singer was due to perform a concert over the weekend in Arnhem, The Netherlands, when he stopped by popular tourist attraction, ‘The Anne Frank House‘, beforehand. His comment read: “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a Belieber.” The house commented on its Facebook page that he had visited the premises with friends and his bodyguards, stayed for the duration of an hour, and that queues of fans were waiting for him outside. Personally I think that this uproar is all a tad ridiculous, and that people need to take a minute and remember that he is a 19 year old boy, who happens to be living a rather crazy lifestyle. Give the poor lad a break! We all do and say stupid things at this age- it’s a time for mistakes! He was obviously trying to write something light-hearted and jokey.
