Cory Monteith, who shot to fame playing awkward dancing teen Finn Hudson on ‘Glee‘, has entered rehab for the 2nd time at the age of just 30. The cause for the stay is substance addiction, although the name of the substance has yet to be confirmed by his representatives. Plans for him to appear in the last 2 episodes of the current season have been scrapped, and producers will have to find another avenue to take his story along.
‘Glee‘ boss and creator Ryan Murphy tweeted: “I am so proud of Cory Monteith and love and support him 100%.” Cory‘s spokesperson said: “Cory has voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction. He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”
His girlfriend Lea‘s short statement about the drama read: “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.” She also tweeted yesterday: “Thank you all so much for all your love, support, and encouragement. It’s means the world to us. Still so overwhelmed by all the love and well wishes we have received from you all.. my heart is so full.”
