Singer Demi Lovato is still grieving for her father at the moment, but has made the mature decision to turn his death into a more positive thing, by partnering with a charity foundation. She described her ideas for the ‘Lovato Treatment Scholarship Program‘ on Twitter, saying: “I believe that everything happens for a reason and I want some good to come out of my father’s passing… So I am launching the ‘Lovato Treatment Scholarship Program‘ to help pay for treatment expenses at Cast Recovery for someone who needs help. Tell me your story. Go to http://www.castrecovery.com and click on programs.”
The charity have written about her involvement on their own website: “Demi Lovato has partnered with CAST Recovery to create ‘The Lovato Treatment Scholarship‘ in honor of her Dad, Patrick Lovato, who passed away in part due to untreated mental health and addiction issues. Demi has battled these issues throughout her life, and she understands what’s at stake. At the same time, effective treatment is costly, and many can’t afford the care they need. ‘The Lovato Treatment Scholarship‘ will cover expenses for someone struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues, including the costs for one of CAST Recovery’s transitional living homes, as well as the clinical services provided at CAST’s outpatient program. Demi knows the CAST Recovery team well. She continues to work with them directly, and trusts that their programs offer some of the best services available. Demi and the CAST Recovery team wish they could help everyone, but unfortunately they can’t. And while the scholarship will only be able to help one person at a time, Demi will continue to speak out on these issues and lend their voice to those in need.”
Maria Fowler, a former star of ‘ITV2‘ series ‘The Only Way Is Essex‘, tried to commit suicide last week. She made the monumental decision to end her life amid strife in her personal life, and spent 3 nights in hospital as a result of her excessive pill- taking.
Maria, who previously felt suicidal last year following a break-up, is now recovering at home with her Mum in Derby, and has since tweeted: “I have been in hospital, am ok, just a bit poorly. Hopefully will be out later on. Thank you to you all for your supportive tweets, it honestly means a lot to know that there are so many nice people out there. There’s not enough support available, infuriates me. Any physical illnesses are treated with urgency but not those affecting the mind.”
Mother to Lydia Bright from the show, Debbie, wrote to her: “Hope you are ok Maria. I’m always around for a cuppa if you ever need me. You take care of you and always remember your special,” and friend Nicola McLean added: “Thinking of
@MariaFowler today.” Get better soon!
Katy Perry broke the usual dress-only unspoken rule at the ‘Kids Choice Awards‘ this year when she wore a bodycon 2 piece set by ‘Max Azria for Hervé Léger.’ Now, ‘Hervé Léger‘ is known for its bandage dresses that cost well into the thousands apiece, and can only really be worn by those with washboard flat stomachs, but she can certainly pull it off!
I adore the blue and neon yellow coloured geometric print on this piece, and was delighted this week when I found a High Street alternative. I stumbled across ‘Famous Frocks
‘ when I was on ‘The Valleys
‘ star Lateysha
page, as she has just purchased this very outfit, and was asking followers if she should wear it out. At just £99
, it’s a fantastic alternative to the designer version, and it’s available in sizes 6-14
One Professor Green fan must have either got a little over excited or thought his performance stank last night when she genuinely shat herself during his set. The rapper was performing at ‘Harper Adams‘ uni in Peterborough, and complained afterwards on Twitter about a rather unsavoury smell. He wrote:
“First gig since the leg incident, feels like shit but can’t wait to get on stage!
#harperadamsuni. I’ve never done a gig where the smell of shit has invaded my nostrils like that before, and a girl actually shit themselves in Peterborough. Also why are there so many cunts at ‘Harpers‘? Never seen so many fights, not that anyone could punch their way out of a paper bag. Big up the girl in the (short) red dress on that blokes shoulders, if it wasn’t for his ears your vag would have been available for all to see. All that aside, much love to the nice people at ‘Harpers‘, fortunately there were more of you than the shit cu*ts.”
Demi Lovato and her elder sister Dallas are mourning today for their deceased father. Patrick Lovato, who was not present for the majority of his daughter’s childhoods, died today of cancer. Patrick has had no contact with Demi and Dallas in recent years, and Demi used her strained relationship with her father as songwriting material occasionally, especially on her most heartbreaking track, ‘For The Love of a Daughter.’
The song gives fans a glimpse into her less than stable home life, and she sings about the ‘family war’ that she endured at just 4 years old. Prominent lyrics include: “You have a hollowed out heart but it’s heavy in your chest, I try so hard to fight it’s but it’s hopeless… you’re hopeless.”
In a 2009 interview, Demi addressed her relationship with her father: “2 years ago . . . When somebody lets you down after you’ve been the only one there for them . . . I had to cut off all connection. It was hurting me too much.” In the same year he said about his daughters: “I would never blame Dianna. She is a wonderful mother. I love Demi, her sister, Dallas, and Dianna. I think about them all the time and I pray they are OK and safe.”
Demi was due to appear at a ‘X Factor‘ promo shoot alongside fellow judges today, but has been excused from attending for obvious reasons, whilst she struggles to come to terms with the death of a man who was a mere stranger to her, despite their biological link. Dallas tweeted just now: “Rest in peace daddy I love you,” and fans of the pair are trending “
In a cute ‘Vine‘ video uploaded on Friday, something pop/ country legend Taylor Swift was wearing seemed more than a little familiar to me. Upon closer inspection, I recognised her cute dog print blouse as a garment that I nearly purchased just the day before, while rummaging through the well- thumbed sales racks in my local Topshop.
This adorable dog-print short-sleeved blouse was previously retailed at £26, but was knocked down to £15 for their annual summer sale. It is currently available online, but is still available in some stores, and of course on eBay.
In the extremely short video, Taylor and BFF Selena Gomez can be seen treating themselves to an ice cream, and even “cheers”ing them! “It’s summer, isn’t it?,” Taylor asks, to which Selena confirms: “It’s summer time!”
If you’re a dog-lover and are disappointed that the Topshop design is no longer available, Very have a decent alternative option, although it is of a more nautical design. Buy it here for £20.
have a long-sleeved, aqua coloured version listed on their site for £36

Hot tamale Katy Perry has made another career first by landing her first cover for globally- recognised fashion magazine ‘Vogue.’ The fun singer was interviewed in several locations for the feature, (the pictures that accompany the interview show a very stripped down version of her usual self), including the San Ysidro Ranch, Lotusland and La Super-Rica, where she spoke in depth about her fixation with saving ‘broken birds’, and how she views herself as an emotional widow:
She spoke a little about a her music writing on the go, confirming that she carried around a little dictaphone for any random moments of inspiration. She played a ‘little experiment’, and said: “This is like its rawest form, and I titled it ‘Bad Photographs’ because the idea is that when people are in a relationship they only take photographs when they are happy, and sometimes when it ends you realize maybe it would be important to take photographs when it’s not happy. So I have this idea-Looking back we should have taken photographs . . . of all the unhappiness . . . coz now my mind’s playing tricks on me. . . . I forget we are not meant to be. . . .” You know what I am saying? So I put it in this song last night. That’s how I write a song.”
On her ex husband Russell Brand, she dished: “He’s a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him. Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011. He’s hysterical in some ways. Until he started making jokes about me and he didn’t know I was in the audience, because I had come to surprise him at one of his shows. So. Hysterical to a point. I mean, I have to claim my own responsibility in things. I do admit that I was on the road a lot. Although I invited him time and time again, and I tried to come home as much as I possibly could. You saw that in the movie. That wasn’t edited to leave footage out—there wasn’t any footage of him. At first when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they’re like, I can’t handle the equalness. He didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting. I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day. I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me. So I have moved on from that.”
On her most recent love John Mayer
, who she played the journalist in her car a song based upon him, she sighed: “No, I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him.. All I can say about that relationship is that he’s got a beautiful mind. Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds. I hope I don’t have to live as a widow. An emotional widow. No, I don’t believe that. But I think that I can just right now focus on me and strengthening myself and my emotional support system. I’m not in a relationship, I’m just on my own—I am myself in my own bed. I have to be happy being alone, and I am happy. I believe that I will be loved again, in the right way. I know I’m worth it.” You most certainly are honey…
