A week ago Lamar Odom was discovered unconscious in a Las Vegas brothel by an employee, after alleged excessive consumption of drugs and alcohol. He was admitted to the Sunrise Hospital in Sin City in an initially critical condition, but over the last seven days his speech has returned, and he has been able to communicate with a number of relatives, including his two children. He has now reached a stable enough level to be transferred, so today he was flown to Cedars-Senai hospital in LA.
Despite being separated from Khloé Kardashian, he is still married to her in the eyes of the law as a judge has never finalised their divorce, and she has been responsible for any medical decisions during his period of hospitalisation. The one-time NBA legend notoriously married Khloé after less than a month of dating, but since has struggled with rumoured substance issues. This ultimately led to a decline in not just his performance on the court, but also in his relationship. Heartbreakingly Khloé has never fallen out of love with the basketball player despite his many downfalls, and has even reiterated this in a recent magazine interview.
Khloé has kept a respectful silence since his hospitalisation, and refused to leave his side while she waited for him to wake up. Very little has been said by the Kardashian clan, but in the last 48 hours Kim has tweeted: “I believe in the power of prayer! Thx 4 ur prayers Lammy– So happy Kendall & I could make u smile 2day God is good!” One by one each member of the Kardashian brood flew to Vegas last week to wait at his bedside, wishing for signs of improvement.
Khloé posted his first official statement on her website today: “The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!”
Let’s pray that Lamar will fully recover and get the help he needs, I need Khlomar back together already!
