Flaming redhead Rihanna‘s brand new wax model was unveiled to the public for the first time earlier today at Madame Tussauds.
The thigh flashing black dress on the mannequin shows off her numerous tattoos, required four months to complete, and cost a whopping £150,000!
She’s been placed alongside musical legends Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse.
A representative for Madame Tussauds said: “We are sure she will hit the right note with our guests as demand for her figure has been huge since her appearance on ‘The X Factor’ 2010. Rihanna is one of the biggest music stars of the moment and is a perfect addition to the diva dream team of female artists we have here at the attraction.”
Amy Winehouse‘s father Mitch has told interviewer Anderson Cooper that his daughter had the anti-anxiety medication Librium in her system when she died, and reiterated that her death was not linked to any illegal drugs, and that she suffered from fits.
“What happened to Amy wasn’t anything to do with drugs. Everything Amy did, she did to excess. She drank to excess and did detox to excess. The periods of abstinence were becoming longer, and the periods of drinking were becoming shorter. It was heading in the right direction.”
It’s thought that she had become more independent on them as she tried to reduce her alcohol intake.
Results from Amy Winehouse‘s long-awaited toxicology report have shown that alcohol was present in her system at the time of her death, but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death. There are no signs of any illegal drugs having been consumed beforehand.
“The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October,” said a representative.
Her father Mitch told her family at her funeral that Amy had quit drink and drugs before her death; “Three years ago, Amy conquered her drug dependency, the doctors said it was impossible but she really did it. She was trying hard to deal with her drinking and had just completed three weeks of abstinence. She said, “Dad, I’ve had enough of drinking. I can’t stand the look on your and the family’s faces any more.”
Well it sounds like she drank herself to death…such a shame.
It’s looking increasingly more likely that the definite cause for Amy Winehouse’s unexpected death yesterday was indeed down to a cocktail of drink and drugs that she had consumed beforehand. (She is alleged to have purchased cocaine, ketamine and ecstasy late Friday night in Camden).
It is believed that she was drowning her sorrows Friday night following her split from boyfriend Travis last month. Her Dad Mitch returned to the UK after being informed of the news upon his arrival in New York.
The statement from the parents read: “Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives,’ they said. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time.”
Goddaughter Dionne Bromfield has finally broken her silence on Twitter, simply posting: “Forever in my heart….love you always #amy ♥”
Just a small example of the huge displays of flowers, paintings, letters and so on left by mourning fans.
Her heavy drinking session Friday would have made the effects of the drugs worse; “Amy seemed determined to have a big one on Friday night. She was out in Camden on Friday evening, but seemed determined to carry on the party back at her flat. None of us know who was with her into the early hours of Saturday. But getting out of it was clearly her main priority of the night.”
She is yet to be buried, and a post-mortem will take place early this week to confirm the case of her death.
Amy with her Dad, Mitch
She was the girl that everyone said had nine lives, and it seems that earlier this evening singer Amy Winehouse finally lost her battle with drink and drugs.
She was pronounced dead when the police arrived at her Camden home at 3.54pm, and police are currently treating her death as ‘unexplained’.
The short statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased. Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.”
The saddest part of this horrible story is that it is possible that her father has not yet been told of his daughter’s death; Mitch is currently on a flight to New York, where he is preparing to take part in a jazz event.
Only this week had she been showing her support for her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield at the iTunes festival, and even danced alongside her onstage.
If only she could have got the right help long ago…such a sad story, her poor parents. Such a waste of an incredible talent!
Just this month she was given permission by doctors to leave rehab and embark on her 12 date European tour, but judging by videos of last night’s gig in Belgrade, (Serbia), this should not have been made an option.
The video below is visually distressing to watch, and you can see a completely zonked-out Amy having a stab at singing the lyrics that have in the past won her several Ivor Novello awards. She is clearly high, and this makes me sad; she’s wasting a true talent; I doubt we’ll ever hear the sequel to ‘Back To Black’, the record that made her famous.
She certainly didn’t get the nickname ‘Wino’ from a love for Winegums….she’s always struggled where drink and drugs are concerned.
Amy Winehouse has checked back into rehab again, and not just any one at that; the exclusive ‘Priory’ rehabilitation centre.
However, she decided to have one last drink en route, and stopped off at a local corner shop to buy (and then down) a small bottle of Smirnoff vodka.
Her admittance to rehab worries fans, as she is due to start a leg of concert dates in Europe on June 18th, and many fear for her health.
Her long-suffering publicist Tracey Miller said: “Amy has embarked on a treatment program at the Priory Clinic. She wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment. She will remain at the Priory on doctor’s advice.”
Get well soon Amy!
