I should think that ‘The Saturdays‘ singer Frankie Sandford was far from impressed after her boyfriend got involved in a bit of a fight at bandmate Una Healy‘s wedding on Saturday. ‘The Sun‘ claim that the ‘Manchester City‘ player took offence to a drunk guest who sang football songs about best friend John Terry.
A source at the wedding spilled: “1 of the guests had a few too many and started singing ‘Chelsea‘ songs. It then developed into ‘There’s Only 1 John Terry‘ sung at the top of his voice towards Wayne Bridge. Wayne‘s a mild-mannered bloke but there was only so much he could take. He squared up to the punter. There was a bit of fisticuffs and they were pulled apart but it spoiled the mood for Wayne.”
5 of the prettiest ladies in pop, ‘The Saturdays‘, are planning for their career to take off Stateside with a little help from a new TV project that they’re planning. During a routine radio interview with ‘Kiss FM‘ today, the girls (minus Una Healy) let slip that they are going head with plans to film a reality show pilot with all of the bandmates in America, which will be broadcasted by ‘E! Entertainment‘.
Mollie King said: “We’re going over to film a pilot basically, in a few weeks time. Hopefully, fingers crossed we’ll do a series documenting us hopefully cracking America.” Rochelle Wiseman told the show’s hosts: “We’re doing a pilot. We see if we like it and they like it. We’ve done a reality show before but this is going to be different because we’re not on home turf, we’re away.”
Mollie King has tried to calm the public’s excitement about the possibility of her dating a royal by denying being in a relationship with Prince Harry, who she has met up with several times in the last few weeks with friends. Her response to the questions from her fans was this: “Guys I’m getting a lot of tweets about Prince Harry but … I’m not dating him & we’re not in a relationship. We’re just friends.”
They met at a polo match in 2010, and their relationship has been on the up recently thanks to a string of parties together at ‘Public‘ nightclub and ‘Bunga Bunga‘ in London.
Last October, fans of ‘The Saturdays‘ were surprised to hear that one of their most squeaky clean girls was having a few personal problems at home. Frankie Sandford has spoken about her panic attacks, paranoia and general depression in the days leading up to her hospitalisation in the May issue of ‘Glamour‘ magazine.
In the article, she discusses how little things would set her off: “One night, I got upset because Wayne (Bride) hadn’t bought the right yoghurts. I manage to convince myself he didn’t know me at all. It set off this spiral of negative thinking – that if I disappeared, it wouldn’t matter to anyone. In fact, it would make everybody’s life easier. I felt that I was worthless, that I was ugly, that I didn’t deserve anything.”
“Every time I spoke to someone, I’d be thinking, “They probably think I’m a horrible person. Am I boring them? Do I look ugly?” I was so nervous, because I was “Frankie from ‘The Saturdays’“. I didn’t know if people would be horrible to me and say: “You’re in a successful girl band, you’ve got this great boyfriend, he’s got loads of money. But nobody judged me. Nobody thought I was weird. I did lose myself, but I feel like me again now. But I try not to put pressure on myself – it’s unrealistic, no one is 100 per cent happy all of the time.”
The singer is the face of the magazine’s new ‘Hey, It’s OK‘ campaign, and is hoping that her knowledge of depression will help other sufferers.
He may come across as smooth and suave onstage, but Marvin Humes‘ proposal to girlfriend Rochelle Wiseman was nothing close to it. In an exclusive with ‘Hello!’ magazine, he’s admitted turning into a “stuttering and stumbling wreck” during a boat ride on a New Year‘s holiday.
“I can’t tell you how many times I’d rehearsed what to say, but when the moment came to speak it all went to pieces – the only time I’ve ever messed my words up! I was stuttering and stumbling. I said to Rochelle, “I want to make you the happiest man… No, I mean I want you to make me the happiest man”. It was getting all confused.”
In order to secure a safe arrival for the heart-shaped rock, he had to smuggle it in his boxers. Um, hope you washed it afterwards love!
Speaking about the diamond, Rochelle commented: ‘I kept waking up, gazing at my ring and thinking “Yes!” After a couple of days Marvin did have to say to me, “Babe, you’ve got to stop looking at it!” Lovestruck Marvin added: “From the moment I slipped that engagement ring on Rochelle’s finger I’ve felt a tighter bond with her. I assume marriage will make that closeness even greater.”
Being the traditional sort, Marvin asked for her Mum Roz and uncle Paul‘s permission beforehand, and Paul has agreed to give her away at the summer nuptials.
Everyone’s favourite member of ‘The Saturdays‘, Mollie King, has split from model boyfriend David Gandy. The couple have spent the last 10 months together, but have called time on their relationship. They blame their hectic schedules as the reason for ending their romance.
Mollie has been staying at her mother’s house since they split last week. “Been staying at Mum’s this week, it’s the best “hotel”! Although not sure what the reaction would be to late night room service!”, she tweeted yesterday.
David spoke to ‘The People‘ on Tuesday: “I have been over in the States 3 times this month and a relationship can’t take that.” At a ‘BAFTA‘ event held at ‘The Savoy‘ hotel in London, he spoke fondly of his ex: “Mollie is an incredibly beautiful, lovely girl and so grounded. But it just didn’t work out. Maybe in a few years when we are at different stages in our career we can make it work.”
‘The Saturdays‘ gave their bandmate Una Healy an evening of gifts and pampering last night. Mollie King, Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Wiseman threw her a very pink baby shower at ‘Mortons‘ in Mayfair.
With less than 2 months to go, she’s spent the last week in bed, following advice from her doctor. (She fainted just a few weeks ago!)
She and rugby-player boyfriend Ben Foden have been busy decorating their baby’s nursery. On the band’s website, she proudly shows off their DIY achievements.
She says: “This is the little baby’s room, we converted it, it used to be our spare room but now it’s our nursery. Ben and I have had so much fun this week putting up the border, we did it all ourselves. I never realised he is little bit of a carpenter, he put together this cot himself, he put together this wardrobe.”
She left the bash with a boo full of gifts, including: a tiny pink dressing gown with ‘Little Sat‘ on the back, a pregnancy bump mug and blankets.
“Had the most amazing girlie night with friends and family, thanks so much to you all for all the wonderful gifts,” she tweeted today.
