It’s fair to say that 2015 has been the year Kylie Jenner went from being the baby of the Kardashian clan, to a fully fledged ‘King Kylie‘ within the social media world, and within her family’s fanbase. It was also the year that she confirmed she’d had lip plumping treatment (eventually anyway…)
The 18 year old daughter of Kris Jenner has so far dabbled with coloured hair extension lines, and a joint clothing collection with Pacsun (featuring her model sister Kendall), but she has not ventured into the world of make-up products until now.
lipkitbykylie.com has recently gone live, with the first batch of new products selling out in an incredible 60 seconds! She has reassured fans a restock will happen imminently, in order to avoid Christmas pouts under the tree! So her lip kits retail at $29, and come in three of Kylie’s typical neutral shades; Dolce K, True Brown K, and a Candy K. They contain a matte lipstick and a liner to give you the overly-lined pout that started an Instagram craze this year. Recent high-school graduate Kylie claims to have been heavily involved within the manufacturing progress, sitting in on chem lab meetings and visiting factories lately.
In a statement on her new website, she writes: “After two long years of dreaming about this, I am so excited to finally share my lip kit with you guys. The Kylie Lip Kit is a collection of shades and products I handpicked with an amazing team to design the perfect “Kylie lip”. I can’t wait to see how beautiful everyone is going to look. Use the hashtag #LipKitByKylie to share your photos with me.”
For anyone wondering how to apply, they advise: “Each Lip Kit is applied with one swipe color that glides across lips and dries down to a powdery-soft, matte finish. Homogenous color in natural nudes and deep browns give unparalleled comfort and wear. The oil free formula has 25% pigment which provides instant color. The perfect blend of waxes, silicone and polymers give you smooth and easy glide color, with longwearing properties.”
When I first heard that the Kardashian sisters were designing a collection, (sorry ‘kollection’) of clothing for UK stores, I expected them to have paired up with the likes of ‘River Island‘, ‘Topshop‘, or of course ‘Lipsy‘, who all share quite a young demographic. Their collaboration with dowdy High Street store ‘Dorothy Perkins‘ just wasn’t right for their public image; so now I’m glad that party dress shop ‘Lipsy‘ is their newest collaboration.
‘Lipsy‘ posted on their site yesterday: “Super exciting news at ‘Lipsy‘ HQ! Lipsy are teaming up with the Kardashians to launch a brand new ‘Kardashian Kollection‘ this Autumn. The highly anticipated new collection will embrace Kim‘s glamorous vibe, Kourtney‘s eclectic taste and Khloé‘s edgy style. From timeless pieces to fashionably tailored looks, the line will appeal to all women who love fashion. ‘Lipsy‘ caught up with Kourtney, Kim and Khloé this week and this is what they had to say.”
Khloé: “We’re so excited to announce the launch of ‘Kardashian Kollection‘ for ‘Lipsy‘ in the UK, Ireland, Russia and the Middle East this October. We’re collaborating with ‘Lipsy‘ to bring a fresh new range of pieces and I can’t wait for the new line to hit stores.”
Kourtney added “Kim, Khloé and I are always looking for new ways to keep our ‘Kollection‘ unique and give our fans fashion-forward pieces, so we felt that teaming up with ‘Lipsy‘ was the perfect way to do this. There’s a little something for everyone in this new ‘Kollection‘.” And finally, Kim: “We always want to keep things fresh and exciting for our fans across the world and we can’t wait to see the response around these new pieces. There are some really stylish blazers for the fall, sexy evening dresses and statement pieces I can’t wait for everyone to see.”
Kourtney posted on her own personal blog about it too: “Khloé and I are always looking for new ways to keep our ‘Kollection‘ unique and give our fans fashion-forward pieces, so we felt that teaming up with ‘Lipsy‘ was the perfect way to do this. There’s a little something for everyone in this new ‘Kollection‘ and I can’t wait to see how you guys style the pieces. I’m always impressed with the way everyone is so uniquely dressed. More to come!”
