Many a person had something to say when Miley Cyrus introduced the world to the art of twerking last year; most adults deemed her high speed booty-shake as inappropriate not just for kids, but full stop, and little old Ed Sheeran was one of those that publicly addressed the matter.
The Sheeran has since apologised to the pixie crop singer through The Sun by saying: “I was a bit of a c**t. I do feel bad about it as if I’d be f**king livid if someone said that about me. My general point was I wanted her to sing the songs so people could see what an amazing artist she is. I just worded it wrong.” Well well, he’s done the good thing, I just wonder if Miley will now stop mouthing “asshole” at him during awards shows now?!
2013 has been the year of Miley Cyrus‘ style revolution. In the last 12 months she’s shaved 3/4 of her hair off, got in the best shape that she’s ever been in, and is now blamed for the evolution of the world’s funniest dance move- the ‘twerk’! Personally I’m quite a fan of the new punky Miley, and I think she looks pretty darn fierce on the new US Cosmopolitan December cover.
One item in particular that’s caught my eye in her shoot is a feather fur bolero jacket. After a quick peruse of the ‘Miss Selfridge‘ website, it became apparent that this item was from the High Street favourite, and didn’t have a several thousand dollar price tag, as it costs a modest £130– a fair price for fur, I’m sure you’ll agree. The colour is nude, despite its lilac appearance in the magazine photo- that’s just down to good lighting! This dry-clean only jacket is covered in turkey feathers, and is available in Sizes Small-Large. Get in there before all the ‘Smilers’ do!
‘EOS‘ is the ‘it’ make-up brand at the moment, with their products popping up everywhere- all over the shop in fact! In the latest demonstration of celebrity endorsements in advertising and product promotion, Miley Cyrus can be seen sampling their products in her latest music video for ‘We Can’t Stop‘, where they are scattered across a table at a party.
Not only do they come in a number of fruity flavours, but they also have quite a funky circular design, and cost only $3.29. Unfortunately you can’t purchase them as of yet in any British cosmetic stores, but they should expand overseas soon. The flavour I’m most desperate to try is mint, but you can also buy pomegranate raspberry, strawberry sorbet, summer fruit, honeysuckle honeydew, medicated tangerine, and lemon drop (with SPF 15, so perfect for a summer get away).
The Kardashians are other fans of the range, especially Kim and younger sibling Kylie, and Kim used their products consistently throughout her recent pregnancy, with her favourite flavour being strawberry sorbet. Each balm contains shea butter and antioxidants. You can buy ‘Evolution of Smooth‘ products here. I only wish I’d discovered them sooner! I remember during my visit to New York last summer, my sister was more excited than your average kid at Christmas when she stumbled across a stack of these in several cheap drug stores- I think the majority of her suitcase was filled with them upon our return!
aMiley Cyrus‘ parents Tish and Billy Ray are set to divorce after 19 years of marriage- just 3 years after starting the process the first time around. Tish filed the documents yesterday under “irreconcilable differences”- a decision which will have a huge knock-on effect on her 5 children (Miley, Braison, and Noah, Brandi, and Trace). Tish will battle Billy for custody for the youngest of the brood, 13-year-old Noah, who is still classed as a ‘minor.’
Tish spoke to ‘TMZ‘ on the matter: “This is a personal matter and we are working to find a resolution that is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.” Daughter Miley is clearly rooting for her mother, as she let the claws out on Twitter yesterday when the sarcastically asked her Dad: “Since your text and email obviously aren’t working, would you like to talk like this?” Ouch! Meanwhile, Tish hasn’t addressed the matter directly, but has recently retweeted a religious message: “God never promises the absence of storms. He just promises to walk with us through them!”
Miley Cyrus has spent her fair share of time on this side of the pond since reaching fame, but not much of late, and now I can understand why. In a new interview with ‘Elle‘ magazine, the singer, who has recently undergone a slightly punkier image makeover, discusses how several flirtations with the supernatural freaked her out during a previous visit to the capital.
Miley was staying in an old apartment opposite clothing haven ‘Harrods‘ during the visit, which I estimate was in 2010 when she toured the UK with ‘Can’t Be Tamed‘- when she claims she was visited by ghosts. She explains that there were several mysterious goings-on in the ‘haunted’ apartment:
“It was seriously so terrifying. I was having really crazy dreams and really scary things, and one night my little sister – it sounds crazy to tell you – but she was standing in the shower and all of a sudden I hear her scream. I run in there and the water had somehow flipped to hot but it was still… It wasn’t like the water had just changed, the knob had turned but she hadn’t turned it and it was burning her. She was really red. Before I felt this, I thought I had seen a little boy sitting on the sink watching me take a shower so I felt really freaked out. I was sitting there the next night and maybe I’m crazy, but I could have sworn I could see this little boy sitting there on the sink, kicking his feet. 3 or 4 more things happened after that. I will never stay there ever again. Liam had an experience, my mom had an experience, we all had these crazy experiences and it was terrifying.”
Miley Cyrus is one hip gal, that is for sure…the badass ‘Ashtrays & Heartbreaks‘ singer posted several pictures of Twitter yesterday of her modeling an ultra hot crop top for all the world to see. The cheeky design by ‘Dimepiece‘, a stretchy scoop necked tank with the words “oh shit!” emblazoned across it, was worn for a night out with a few drinks (non-alcoholic, of course), over the weekend.
It retails at $44, so at least it is easy for MC stans to pick their own copy up at a non-celebrity price. It’s available at ‘Dimepiece‘ in sizes Small-Large. The brand describe their ideal customer as being: “independent, forward thinking, fun as all hell and lives out loud.” I would so totally wear this…
